Stanton was the third graduate of Hemet High killed in Iraq, leading one of his friends to call the war "The Plague that Hit Hemet." Stanton wanted to be a writer and teacher. He decided he would serve his country first.

I went to Hemet High School with Kenny. He was like a big brother to me and my best friend Kathy. I too joined the Army. And when I found out about Kenny all I could do was cry... He was a brilliant, kind and funny person. He cared so much for others. He always had my back. And he always seemed to know what to say. I remember he use to pass me notes in the hallway to remind me of how big of a dork I was..... I miss that... and I miss Kenny. The world has lost another brilliant child of god. I dont support the war, but I support our troops. And as I watch my commrades fall one by one, I will still stand tall for my dear friend Kenny F. Stanton. R.I.P. you will always be missed....

When my cousin Kenny came home from Korea, i remember wanting to spend every minute with him. I had so much to tell him. I wanted to tell him how i was playing softball for a competitive league, how i was doing great in school, and how i always bragged about him to my friends. the last time he saw me, i was a tom-boy and dressed in his and my brothers old close. lol. then when he came home from korea, I was wearing make up and skirts. He said I looked like a clown haha. he made me wash it off. I never got to give him one last hug and tell him good bye before he left to iraq. I still cry for you Kenny. I pray that you vist me in my dreams and let me know you are still with me and our family. I Miss You so much<3 its still so hard to accept even after almost 4 years that you are not coming home. You Are MY HERO,and i will live the life you always told me to live. you are always in my heart. I LOVE YOU KENNY.
