I was ecstatic when I saw Friday's article about the research done by Ben Welsh which compelled me to get on the computer (which I so rarely do) and express my deep gratitude and appreciation. The article was very well written by Carla Hall. The LA Times so rarely writes about pets (animals in general, actually) that I was bowled over when I saw this article.
Anyway, I have two very beloved dogs (and four rescue cats). Their names are one of a kind - as they are;
I believe, actually, that the names people bestow upon their children and their pets are very reflective of what they want in and expect of (as well as how they feel about) their pets.
My Standard Poodle, who is l2 l/2 years old, is named Sunny Days (because she made my life full of sunny days);
my newest rescue, miniature poodle's name is Dilly Raindrops. Dilly (which means remarkable) and Raindrops
after the song which tells of the trials of a sad being and eventual
triumph! Both Sunny Days and Dilly
Raindrops are known and seen all over, since I walk them daily and take them wherever I go, weather and place
permitting. They are also therapy dogs at Holy Cross Hospital - a miraculous
fete since Dilly started out being
a little terrorist!
