Bugs Bunny made his film debut in the 1940 short "A Wild Hare." Countless moviegoers have since been charmed by the irreverent cottontail with a Brooklyn accent. His signature line — "Eh, what's up, Doc?" — has become part of the vernacular.

In 1997, Bugs became the first animated character to appear on a U.S. postage stamp.
