Cybill Shepherd
Though former fashion model and cover girl Cybill Shepherd’s early acting career included iconic roles in such major 1970s films as “The Last Picture Show,” “The Heartbreak Kid” and “Taxi Driver,” she would eventually find more satisfying success on the small screen.
During the 1980s, Shepherd starred in the nighttime TV soap “The Yellow Rose,” after which she landed a career-defining role as detective Maddie Hayes in the groundbreaking “Moonlighting.”
Shepherd and costar Bruce Willis’ enjoyable on-screen chemistry helped the show last five seasons, earning Shepherd an Emmy nomination and two Golden Globe Awards.
In the mid-1990s, the actress spent four seasons on the eponymously named sitcom “Cybill,” for which she won a Golden Globe Award and three Emmy nominations.
In addition to various other features, Shepherd has also appeared in numerous telefilms (twice playing domestic diva Martha Stewart) and on many series in guest and recurring roles. She also spent three seasons, from 2007 to 2009, on Showtime’s lesbian drama “The L Word.”
The outspoken blond, who most famously dated Elvis Presley (as well as her “Last Picture Show” director Peter Bogdanovich), has been married twice and has three children: Clementine, and twins Cyrus and Molly.
