Dave O'Brien was an actor, writer and director who appeared as the "Bungler" in Pete Smith's two-reel essays.
He made his motion picture debut at Paramount Studios in 1933, and later directed pilot films for CBS. At the time of his death in 1969, he was the senior writer for the "Red Skelton Show."
