Del Moore's smile made him one of the most easily recognized performers in the early years of television.

After Army service during World War II, Moore moved to Hollywood and costarred with Betty White in the "Life With Elizabeth" television series. He later had his own early morning television show and appeared in numerous motion pictures with his friend Jerry Lewis, including "The Big Mouth" and "The Patsy." He also appeared in crime dramas "Dragnet" and "Adam-12."

His career began in the 1930s, when he was ushering in a Miami movie theater. The theater manager shoved him onstage when a movie's soundtrack faded, and the hour of jokes and stories he ad-libbed made a hit with entertainer Al Jolson, who was in the audience. Jolson signed the young actor for a role in the touring company of "Hold Onto Your Hat."
