Edward Small

Producer Born Feb. 1, 1891 in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Edward Small was a film and television producer whose career began in the silent era and continued through the rise of television into the early 1970s.

He produced such films as "I Cover the Waterfront" (1933), "The Count of Monte Cristo" (1934), "The Last of the Mohicans" (1936), "The Man in the Iron Mask" (1939) and "Brewster's Millions" (1945).

Later in his career, Small moved into the new frontier of television and helped to create the production company Television Programs of America.

Small died at age 86 on Jan. 25, 1977.
