Peter Donald is probably best remembered as the emcee of the radio program "Can You Top This?"
First heard on New York's WOR on Dec. 9, 1940, the show pitted the listening audience against a panel of humor experts.
The audience would send in jokes, the good ones were delivered on-air by Donald, and a panel would try to top them with jokes on the same topic.
A laugh-meter was used to measure the audience's reaction. Listeners whose joke was read on-air won a cash prize, which was increased if the panel couldn't top the joke.
Besides radio, Donald also appeared on stage and television including a stint as the moderator of "Masquerade Party."
