Raymond William Hatton was a veteran actor who appeared in more than 150 films in a career that spanned 60 years.

His motion picture career began in 1912 with an appearance as a Russian peasant in a silent film. Other roles included the lead role in Cecil B. DeMille's "The Whispering Chorus" and a series of eight pictures costarring Wallace Beery.

Hatton successfully made the transition into talking films, appearing in the "Rough Riders" series of westerns with Tim McCoy and Buck Jones. He later did five years of westerns with Johnny Mack Brown.

Hatton also appeared in "Tall in the Saddle" with John Wayne and "Unconquered" with Gary Cooper and Paulette Goddard.
