Walter Brennan was one of Hollywood's most renowned character actors for more than 50 years.
He won Academy Awards for best supporting actor in 1936 for "Come and Get It" and in 1938 for "Kentucky." His best known role was that of Judge Roy Bean in "The Westerner," for which he won his third Oscar.
