The Lakers had a new coach for the 1994-95 season, Del Harris, and won 15 more games than they had in the 1993-94 season. The three keys to the Lakers success on the court were point guard Nick Van Exel, forward Cedric Ceballos, and rookie guard Eddie Jones. Harris was named NBA Coach of the Year and General Manager Jerry West was named NBA Executive of the Year.
Playoffs: The fifth-seeded Lakers upset the Seattle SuperSonics in the first round, but lost to the San Antonio Spurs in the semifinals.
