Keep in mind
- The Times initially mispelled the name of Michael Hammersley and Beverly Mosley.
- The coroner's office reported a 26th victim the afternoon of Sept. 15, but a few hours later said the tally was 25.
I wasn't all that close to Jacob but I knew who he was and we talked a couple of times. I am a former student of Mrs. Hefter's and still in the academy. Mrs. Hefter treats every single student of hers like her own children. She comforts us when we need her or be there to get us on the right track. She taught us so much not only about medical things but how to be a good person. I know there will never be anything I can say to make the pain go away. I just want you to know Mrs. Hefter that you are a wonderful person. The whole Hefter family is. They are all amazing people who are so invlolved with everything. Losing Jacob was like losing a brother. I think I speak for all the academy students when I say this. Mrs. Hefter is like our second mom. It hurts so bad to see her going through such a hard time. Just know that if you need anything the academy is always here for you. May Jacob Hefter Rest In Peace.
There are no words in any language to describe what we are going through. I can say I rember seeing Jacob every dsay walk in the 6/7 th PM ROP class. Every time Mrs. Hefter will tell u stheri vacation stories he was always making us laugh since his mom wouldnt say the "true" part of the story. He was always making us laugh...and wow was he he the sighs of many of the girls in my class! lol
I know he is resting in peace. Jacob is a great guy he has doen so much for this community he will always be in our heart. Mrs. Hefter, you brought up a wonderful child than became an extrodinary young man. Remember that God is our fortress, and though we may not understand ( i know its so cliche) but in time itll get better and we will understand god's mysteries. I love you Hefter family and you have great support from me in my prayers as well as all class of 2008, Stephanie i never really knew you but stay strong, your scik of ppl telling the same over and over and i cant truly feel teh same pain as you are but like i said im praying so God can give you the strenght.
love always,
Dayda M. Briseno and Family

For You Jacob and Johny Boy!
Karen & Devin,
We were deeply saddened for you as we learned about Paul's transition into glory. Although the answers of why are not always answered, God has told us who He is and what we should do. He is sovereign and immutable so his purposes and promises never fail. He has also asked us to be faithful. It was this faithfulness for which our family will always remember Paul. Right now, I can only imagine Paul taking part in a Revelation 19 service:
Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying, 'Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.' It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. (vv. 6-8)
Paul will be a portion of our memories, but he is now worshiping our Savior!
With love, prayers, and hope in Him,
The Nandors
Roger,
you will be missed at the once a year gathering at the race track at Santa Anita, I will not be able to ask you for any more tips on the horses. I thank Ian and Mary for having introduced you and Liz to Carol and I.
He was one of the nicest human beings I had the pleasure of having come across in my life. May GOD grant his family with Peace during these difficult times, he will definitely be missed.

Mr. Long was my sons' (James and John)teacher in AP English and Bible also their guidance counselor at Grace Brethren. I believe in my heart that he helped tremendously in shaping and guiding my sons to what they have become today. I always thought of him as one of the best teachers at Grace.
May God's peace and love comfort you during these sad times.
My prayers go to Roberts family. It is wrong for the blame being placed on Robert. The media is evil.
Things happen.. death is not scary... They all woke and wondered "what the heck just happened?" and Robert was there, to take them home.
To Roger's Family-
I was a co-worker at Anderson Printing from '91 thru '01. Roger loved people, his work, soccer, trains, and animals.
We shared a love of cats and sports. He had a ready smile and a shoulder to cry on if you needed it.
We all loved his British accent and genial disposition.
Well Chappy, I'll miss you. You left us much too soon.
My heartfelt condolences to his family.
