I read about this in an email sent to me from a presidential candidate -- the tragedy is that far reached -- and an old friend told me Coach Grace had been on the train. It is always difficult to explain the range of feelings we experience when a person we know is killed in tragic circumstances. I knew Ron Grace when I was a student at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox School. He encouraged me to play after-school sports, even though I had my reasons for being fearful of them. He understood and encouraged me to try. Undoubtedly, this boost of confidence resonates in the way I carry myself to this very day. Pray for his family and for his soul. Please pray for the conductor, also for his soul, that he humbly seek the spirit of forgiveness. I am very saddened to hear of this loss.

'Sista' Beverly, I will miss you. You were there with an open mind and open heart at a difficult time in my life. It has been a privilege to work with such a caring and compassionate woman. To the Mosely Family - Your mom/grandma was a unique woman who touch so many peoples' lives. I hold her in my heart and pray that time will ease your pain and it its place will be fond memories of a "classy" woman loved by many.

Mr. Grace was one of my favorite counselors at RMS. He was a dedicated and passionate counselor, rough rider, and coach. He was the reason I joined AVID and, after six years, I am still involved in it. When I worked in the office my 8th grade year, I helped Mr. Grace out a lot and I saw how he cared about all of us students. Mr. Grace will be greatly missed! My prayers go out to his family and friends. R.I.P.

Travis, Please never feel any responsibility at all for this. It was your job interview that gave my brother such joy that day. We all know he died a happy, happy person that day. It was to be his new beginning, a new beginning with Andrea....and it was so close. God has a purpose for us all, and Chuck was called, his turn.

It is nice to know that in this tragic time that so many people can come together and remember such a remarkable man. Ron Grace was more to so many people than what met the eye. He inspired hope and life into the minds and hearts of his students. Encouraged his collegues to strive and achieve more than they would've ever thought possible. Doing such great things came easy to Ron. But the most amazing thing about this man was how he loved his family. Ron was a model father and husband. One of my most fondest memories of Ron was when I was 10yrs old. The Graces invited me up to Johnsondale at a Ranch they frequented. While walking down to the pool one day Ron, Andrew, Brian and I were talking about the many adventures one could have there when we stopped, and Ron looked up and pointed at a near by mountain top and said, "Look boys, one day I'll take you all up there!" Being a boy of only 10yrs, I thought it impossible. But as I look back and remember what type of man Ron was and the type of men he has molded his sons to be I realize, anything was possible for him. I rather regret not spending more time with Ron and the boys. For I think I would've been better off in many ways.
There isn't a thing I can offer to Jan, Brian or Andrew except my love and everlasting gratitude for a man who inspired us all to take the ball and run for it!
However I am deeply sorry for the loss and the void his passing has caused. As I shed a tear I remember a man that could not be measured in pounds, inches or even gold. I remember a man that led the way for a better tomarrow for himself, his family and for everyone around him.
Thank you and God Bless.

I didn't know Chuck very long at Delta Airlines as he worked mostly nights but when he took a day shift this last bid I did have the pleasure of working with him. I first bonded with him when I overheard him talking about his girlfriend Andrea (which happens to be my name as well) and him telling a hysterical story about how he and she and her maltese dog took the dog for walks in its stroller as I can only relate. Unfortunately I lost my maltese, Lacee, six weeks ago which was as devastating as this news of his death was to me. It brought tears to his eyes when I told him she passed away. He was my 3 o'clock therapy session as we all awaited the end of our shifts. He made me laugh so hard during the wait to go home and always went home with a stomach ache from laughing so hard. I was so ecstatic when he told me that he had this interview and how happy he was to be returning to LA. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. My heart goes out to Andrea. I am so sorry for your loss. He will be missed greatly.
