The Times gave LAUSD elementary school teachers rated in this database the opportunity to preview their value-added evaluations and publicly respond. Some issues raised by teachers may be addressed in the FAQ. Teachers who have not commented may do so by contacting The Times.

It appears as though I have much room to improve. Time to step it up.

Wow! I am so proud to be a teacher. I would have still been proud of my effort even if I hadn't been in the top 20%. However, this does validate my hard work for the last ten years. I am very excited to see how these data findings will impact education in Los Angeles. Education reform is desperately needed, for the sake of all students in our state.

I guess I will have to give back my National Board Certfication, Master's in Education, induction into Who's Who Among America's Teachers and hundreds of hours of unpaid Professional Development since the LA Times has deemed me an ineffective teacher.
