Kynoch sat before the television, transfixed and angry, as terrorists attacked the United States in 2001. Days later he and a childhood friend enlisted in the Army as infantrymen, asking to be sent to the front lines of the war on terror.

I rememer Joshua. He emailed/called me while in Iraq in 2005. I was the NCOIC of Legal Services at FOB Speicher at the time. He wanted to find a registration form for his vehicle in Georgia. After many emails/phone calls between him and myself, I was finally able to direct him to find what he was looking for. A couple of weeks after that, he came into my office on a convoy. He was very polite and walked up to me and introduced himself. I finally had a face to the name and voice. It saddens me to know I read a few weeks later he was killed. I have never forgotten him and I will always remember he spoke of his wife so fondly and comfortably. I spent a long time wanting to write his wife about meeting him; however, when I de-Mobed all my records of addresses were erased as I was from another State from the one I deployed with. As a Soldier, I keep Joshua in my thoughts to keep me focused and motivated to always protect this country from those who would do her harm. I think that is what he would want. I read his wife, Sarah, wrote a message in May 2008; and I can only hope she reads this website often.

I remember Joshua. I always will.

After some phone calls/emails, I was able to direct him to the information he needed. Some time after that, Joshua came into my office on a convoy. He walked up to me and introduced himself. I finally had a face and voice to the name. I remember he spoke of his wife fondly and comfortably. I was saddened to read a few weeks later he was killed. I wanted to write his wife and let her know I had talked to him; however, my address records were not able to be found as I was from a different state than the one I deployed with. As an NCO, I will always remember Joshua's dedication to protect this country and keep her out of harm's way.

I read where his wife, Sarah, wrote on this website in 2008; so, I can only hope she will see this.

I remember Joshua. I always will.
