Warren was killed when a roadside bomb hit his military vehicle in Tsagay, Afghanistan, according to military officials. His hometown was listed by the military as Manchester, N.H. but he grew up in Huntington Beach, where he attended high school. Family members said he moved to New Hampshire with his mother after graduation. His father, Del Warren, lives in Long Beach. Warren joined the elite Special Forces as a medic, with plans to become a firefighter-paramedic or physician's assistant when he left the service.

Sandra and family, we are your extended family "The Holbrook's". Our Jason was with Kyle on July 29th. These two fine men were together when their lives ended. We, like you had Jason's services today Aug 7th at 10:00 at the Burnet Baptist Church with burial at our family cemetery. Our family wanted you to know that we have been thinking of you each day and that our hearts are filled with great pain at the loss of two wonderful and caring young men. May God's grace and mercy be with you each day and may you be comforted in knowing that their sacrifices will NEVER end. Our family is holding our arms open wide just as wide as the great state of Texas. Please feel free to contact us at any time. I had the distinct pleasure of attending the Memorial ceremonies for the Gold Star families at Fort Bragg during Memorial week. Kyle's name is permanently etched in stone, brass and granite all over Fort Bragg and the Special Forces Museum in Fayetteville, NC. I cannot say enough about the wonderful, caring and dedicated men I met from my nephew Kyle's unit. They loved him as much as we did. We got to see where he worked and prepared for his service in Afghanistan. We met their families and our family is now larger since we have now adopted everyone of these wonderful people. We also got to meet the Holbrook family who's son Jason was killed with Kyle on that horrible day. They too are now a part of our family. As awful as losing Kyle is, it is very apparent that he is loved and missed by so many people. Let us not forget that this war is not over and the mission must go on to completion. God Bless everyone who has someone in the military and pray that an end will come soon to this war.
