When we forsake compassion, we forsake our humanity.

May Mr. Sanchez rest in peace, and may his family and friends find light in the darkness of their grief.

I remember meeting this man at Curt's and Nicole's wedding almost a year ago. I find it upsetting that a certified train operator could make such a mistake that would cost so many innocent lives. I am friends w/ some of his immediate family and I send my heart and condolences your way. He was a great man.... no one will ever forget that

I was very shocked this morning when I saw a tribute being paid to all the victims of the recent tragedy. I was taken aback when I saw a picture of Howard and saw his name. He and I were co-workers more than 5 years ago and he " showed me the ropes" in the insurance game and spent time counseling me on some personal matters. He made me feel special when he called me "kiddo" and talked so lovingly about Becky.

Thank You Big Guy for being there for me and and you were missed even before you were gone ..SEE YOU WHEN I GET THERE BROTHER.

I am sure that if he knew what was going to happen he would gladly give his life to save the other victims. I was on the 118 going to my Aunt's house in Simi Valley late that night, right before midnight, and saw all these helicopters hovering, and all the exits were blocked off, and I had no idea what was going on..when I got there they had the news on, and I could not believe my eyes. Im POSITIVE, even not knowing this man, that he would never do this on purpose..and yes he made a mistake, but like some of the comments before mine, we are all victims of being pulled away from what we should be doing on the road, rail, air, etc... and I think we should all learn a strong lesson from this and STOP using our phones in the car, especially to text message. We all at one time had no ability to communicate with people on our commute home or to work etc, before cell phones.. I think we can all survive the ride home without it. Or should I say WILL survive the ride home without it. Let's learn from this, and not judge. God be with ALL the families.

Our family has many fond memories of Walt. We met during baseball with The Sliders and have continued our friendship through the years with the mens bi-monthly poker gatherings. Walt was always the quiet one with only pleasant thoughts when he spoke of others. Our love and prayers will always be with each of you and always a phonecall away. You will forever be in our thoughts.

Liz, Matt and Chris:
Roger was a great friend and was always willing to help our family in any way he could. We will never forget how much Pat loved to tease Roger about how he would wake up in the middle of the night to go watch soccer, when he taught Nancy how to fix the dryer, and how he would tease our kids about playing softball instead of soccer, and the kids would tease him back. Words cannot express how sorry we are for your lose. He will be greatly missed.
Love, Pat, Nancy, Nicole and Haley

I have known Spree for many years first as my personal trainer and friend. We spent many hours discussing her hopes and dreams of becoming a police officer. My family and I were so proud of her when she made it. Our friendship continued through the years and I was completely devastated to hear of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, Laura and her doggies. We will miss Spree so much!

Mel, thank you for bringing Spree into our lives.
