Gonzalez-Iraheta was born in El Salvador. When he was 11 he saved his younger brother from a powerful river current. As a teenager, he sacrificed fun to help his parents make ends meet. After his father's stroke he became the man of the family.

On this date , January 1, 2011, exactly two years ago, I believe this soldiers picture was presented to me on Facebook requesting friendship. I obliged thinking maybe he wanted friends in the States. After chatting for 3 months, I discovered I was not chatting with the soldier but someone pretending to be him. I have sought his true identity for two years. A few weeks ago I found Staff Sgt. Felix's picture on Faces of the Fallen. His image and the picture presented to me is so close that my heart stopped. I have no way of knowing of course for sure they are one and the same but I want to post this. Even though I never really knew Felix, I came to know his face. The feelings I have inside of me are as real as if I did. He is a hero and I am happy to see he had family and friends that loved him dearly. I will always remember his face. May he Rest In Peace with our Lord.
